anywayyy. i absolutely love going to rice’s in the fall. it’s the perfect time – not too hot, not too cold … the perfect weather to shop around for great deals.
what i like most about rice’s (other than bonnie’s bunnies) is how you can find such an array of items – everything from fresh produce to jewelry and everything inbetween. seriously. i suppose that’s par for the course when it comes to flea markets but all of the vendors are friendly and helpful. i’ve gone twice so far this fall.
round one:
round one:
mango poppy: $3.00 / coffee bbq & mango coconut: $10.00 / necklaces: $15.00
remembering a vendor from about two years ago, nick and i ventured the 30+ acres to find sauce. yes, sauce. we came across a vendor with tons of unique hot & barbecue sauces. and what's even better is ... he was giving out samples! after about five samples, i met my match. i can’t remember the name or what exactly was in it but i can tell you it was HOT. SPICY HOT and the coffee i had from two hours before provided me zero relief. as a matter of fact, it made it worse. i was sweating.
then, right before leaving, i bought the triceratops and leaf necklaces ... such an impulse buy but i love them.

shopping day total: $28.00
round two:
necklaces: $20.00 each / wasabi peas: $2.00 / dip mixes: $10.00
i was able to get two necklaces and a pair of earrings for $40.00 – not bad considering the earrings (marked at $15.00) were thrown in for free!
amidst the shopping we stopped for fuel. we snacked on a (gigantic) soft pretzel and sampled all the various mustards. the pretzel was pretty much a vessel for sample the mustards … my favorite being the cranberry honey mustard. speaking of, we also stopped by and sampled a number of gourmet creations dip and olive oil. we bought 3 for $10.00: portabella and artichoke, heavenly horseradish and cheddar & ale. food wise, in addition to the dipping sauces, i also bought wasabi peas for $2.00 at a stand that had a variety of dried fruits, trail mixes and snacks.
head/neck scarf: $10.00 | shopping day total: $62.00
